Umoja Tanzania and Branches Community Projects began their conversation in 2022 when Branches was in search of projects which had a high level of impact to a large population as well as a clear vision and path for the future. In speaking with Caroline Goody (Umoja Tanzania CEO & Co-Founder), we felt a sense of clear direction as well as a program which already had a lot of history and passion behind it. Umoja Tanzania has been working to expand and refurbish for a few years now and upon having the conversation, Branches Community Projects began to get very excited about the potential possibility of a perfect match.
Umoja's primary focus is on improving the lives of young Tanzanians. To do this, they focus on the whole being - education & livelihoods, well-being & health, relationships & life skills, sports, family and community. To do this, they have programs, facilities, and resources to interlink the community and resources with those who want and need it.
In longer conversations and more relays of information, it became clear that Umoja was something that Branches Community Projects wanted to get involved and help build a facility with them.
