Sponsor a Student at The Umoja Centre

Your sponsorship directly supports a student's full educational journey, covering: 

• School fees, uniforms, textbooks, and stationery 
• Daily meals (breakfast and lunch)
• Access to medical care and pastoral support
• Teacher salaries, centre maintenance, electricity, and clean water
• Career coaching, job-seeking assistance, and life skills

All donations are carefully managed to ensure equal access to opportunities. Umoja does not give cash to students - funds are allocated through a structured programme to prevent dependency and promote self-reliance.

To ensure every student receives the support they need, we offer shared and full sponsorship options:

Shared Sponsorship

Monthly: £25 / A$50 / $35 USD

Annual: £300 / A$600 / $395 USD

Full Sponsorship

Monthly: £50 / A$100 / $65 USD

Annual: £600 / A$1200 / $785 USD

* It costs over double the base amount to fully fund a student’s education. Sponsors able to contribute at the full sponsorship level, or team up with a friend, are encouraged to do so. 

When you become a sponsor:

• You’ll receive a student profile and photo.
• You’ll receive regular updates and letters from your student.
• You’ll be invited to send letters and contribute to occasional gift packs tailored to your student’s needs.

Sponsorship typically lasts 2 to 6 years, depending on the student’s chosen path - either vocational training or secondary/tertiary education. 

* If your student leaves the programme early for any reason, you will be informed and given the option to sponsor another student.

 Want to go beyond monthly sponsorship? You can:

• Fund a gift pack (uniform, shoes, essentials) * during the year
• Co-sponsor or take on multiple students
• Support transport costs or contribute to the crisis fund

* Gift packs are bought locally to support the Arusha economy and ensure safe, reliable delivery.

Payment Processing via Branches Community Projects

Payments can be securely routed through Branches Community Projects, a licensed NGO partner supporting Umoja Tanzania. This method ensures a smooth and reliable transfer of sponsorship funds while allowing donors to contribute locally.

Please note: Sponsorship payments routed through Branches Community Projects will be subject to a 5% administration fee. Further instructions and local bank details will be provided upon confirmation of sponsorship.
