OUR STORY

On the roof of Africa, a vision took shape.

After climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, two friends—Mike and Sawyer—found themselves deep in conversation about how they could use their skills and experiences to build spaces for good.

Mike is a purpose-driven leader with a multidisciplinary background across science, construction, and sustainability.

Michael brings over a decade of experience delivering major infrastructure projects. With a Master’s in Sustainable Futures and a lifelong passion for service, Michael co-founded Branches Community Projects to build dignified, community-led infrastructure in places where it’s most needed. His vision is clear: empower local NGOs with global resources, without disrupting organic structure or community rhythm.

Sawyer brings complementary strengths in operations, NGO logistics, agriculture, and cross-cultural project delivery.

Before co-founding Branches Community Projects, Sawyer led initiatives in challenging environments, where adaptability, structure, and trust were non-negotiable. Whether through infrastructure, education, or economic empowerment, his approach is always one of quiet consistency and strategic care.

At BCP, Sawyer anchors the operational side of the mission—ensuring that every partnership is set up for success, every resource is stewarded wisely, and every solution is built to last.

Together, they share a passion for creating sustainable change orchestrated in harmony with local communities.

By blending their skills in event programming, construction management, and sustainable development, Mike and Sawyer founded Branches Community Projects to focus on grassroots collaboration—building infrastructure and systems that last, while honoring local culture and leadership.

Branches is a commitment rooted in walking alongside communities, partnering with local organizations, and fostering solutions that are driven by the people they’re meant to serve.
