TANZANIA

In 2022, Branches Community Projects began an exciting conversation that would blossom into a transformative partnership.

From our first discussions with Caroline Goody, Umoja’s CEO and Co-Founder, we were inspired by their holistic approach to improving the lives of young Tanzanians through education and community connection.

Umoja had a bold dream: to expand their facilities to better serve the growing needs of their youth and community.

Together, we saw the opportunity to make this dream a reality. We committed financial resources and hands-on expertise in project oversight, development, and delivery.

At the heart of this multi-year partnership are two incredible sites in Sinoni, southwest of Arusha City.

The main 2.6-acre campus houses classrooms, workshops, offices, sports grounds, gardens, and spaces for extracurricular activities and community gatherings.

The second site includes accommodation, a kitchen, gardens, and a farm area for future agricultural programs.

This expansion doubles Umoja’s student intake, provides new vocational and entrepreneurial training, grows their social enterprise initiatives, and deepens family and community support services.

Together with Umoja, local contractors, government, and our generous donors, we’ve co-created an empowering space that builds opportunity and hope for generations of young Tanzanians to come.
